The Magic of Harry Potter Films

What's up with these Harry Potter films anyway? It is absolutely amazing the effect that these movies have on some of their fans. Have you seen the first four? Well, if the answer is no, then you're certainly in the minority. The amazing thing is that both kids and adults alike seemed to equally love the adventures of the young wizard.

As a matter of fact, the Harry Potter films alone have made J.K. Rowling a very, very wealthy woman. There's just something about wizards and supernatural evils that gets our juices flowing. I suppose it's the mystery and magic of it all. I know two things for sure, this movie series will be around for a long time, and lots of money will be generated from them. Harry Potter films are similar to a new-age Star Wars. It's that kind of phenomenon.

It all began if one single book. We humans seem to love our works of fiction. Or perhaps in this case, fantasy. Either way, the Harry Potter series is a runaway smash hit. When the first book hit the shelves of every bookstore around the world, I actually didn't really care for its. Yippy, yet another children's novel that delves into the supernatural realm of magic and the age old good versus evil genre. Like that hasn't been done to death already. But kids from all over the world were new to these concepts and this in turn got the adult's attention as well.

Because of the wild enthusiasm that the kids work is flying, the adults too were getting sucked into these imaginative books. The writing was on the wall that we would soon see feature films created. While I did see the first four, they didn't really excite me as much as I had hoped. But that's just me, my daughter absolutely adores them. I must admit, the concept of the Harry Potter films is the perfect key to classic escapism. Isn't that why we go to the movie theaters, as an escape from our everyday lives. Come on, you want to get your money's worth and there's a lot to be said for vicarious thrills.

If you're not an avid reader you may want to simply watch the Harry Potter films. In my opinion, the third and fourth installments or more entertaining than the first two. Of course this is just my opinion, but the way cinematography was much better. The Internet also provides any fan of the Harry Potter films with a plethora of material. You can hop online and pick up any of the first four Harry Potter films today on DVD for a decent price. Amazon.com is a superstore or you can find any of these films and can buy them either new or used.

The Secret Behind Harry Potter's Popularity

Many articles have been written on the subject of Harry Potter and his remarkable appeal to the mass market, but that's not going to stop me putting in my five cents on the subject.

I came to Harry Potter late myself, having dismissed the books as something for children for several years. It was a silly dismissal on my part since I can name several children's books that I still happily read. However, a couple of years ago the staggering media coverage of the movies forced me to read the books to see what all the fuss was about. Since then, like most everyone else, I have been captivated.

I have read all of the Harry Potter books in order, watched the movies and read many articles about various aspects of both Harry and J.K. Rowling and I believe that I have identified two key elements in the success of Harry Potter. I make no claims that these are the only elements, but I believe they are central to its appeal to both children and adults.

GROWING UP ALONG WITH THE READER

One obvious feature of the Harry Potter novels is that Harry ages. With each book, a year goes by. While this is not unique to Harry Potter, it is unusual for a writer to stick with a single feature character over so many years. Particularly when those years encompass the key ages of ten through seventeen.

As a result of this, and the fact that the books have come out over an approximately nine year period (most likely ten by the time the final book is published), the children who read the Harry Potter and the Sorceror's/Philosopher's Stone have effectively grown up with Harry Potter.

Whether by accident or design, it seems that J. K. Rowling has reflected that increasing maturity in both Harry and her audience by telling tells that become progressively darker and more complex in their characterization.

This reflection of Harry's growth towards adulthood conveniently mirrors the same growth that Rowling's core audience was experiencing. It also has the side benefit of attracting the interest of adults, many of whom became aware of the books through their children but discovered something with a little more depth than the average children's tale.

So the increasing sophistication helped Harry Potter capture an ever larger audience, but what was it that appealed to them in the first place?

THE IMPORTANCE OF ARCHETYPES

The Harry Potter books are packed full of archetypes. From the Dursely's, a family that will be very familiar to anyone who has read the works of Roald Dahl, to Lord Voldemort (Tolkien anyone?), to the boarding school environment (a setting used in many older British children's books) to the magical creatures which inhabit Harry Potter's world.

Now, it's important to be clear on this point. I am not suggesting plagiarism. Those allegations have been made and in each case, clearly showed to be false. No I am talking here about archetypes:

"the original pattern or model from which all things of the same kind are copied or on which they are based

Will This Be The Last Installemnt Of The Harry Potter Series?

Warner brothers harry potter film is set to open July 15th, 2009. Like the previous film, this film will be simultaneously released in regular theatres and IMAX 3D. They are showing some great behind the scenes footage and new scenes from the new film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The video highlights both the dark and comedic moments of the film. Movies like this one are correcting the balance. It offers the best of both worlds.

David Yates is returning for the sixth film Half-Blood Prince, and I am sure that moviegoers will welcome him with open arms. I'm guessing somebody else noticed the improvements. David Yates is the director for which this amazing series has been searching. While Columbus's first two were cute sometimes too cute and imaginative, Cuaron's story driven focus on the third was very well-done, and Newell's streamlined fourth was well acted with poor effects, Yates's vision of the fifth novel was exactly as I imagined everything in my head. David Yates is the fourth director to take on the task of bringing Harry Potter's adventures to the screen. Yates has relatively little feature film directorial experience particularly compared to his predecessors but he still manages to put in a solid effort.

Director David Yates is a seasoned hand at TV realism, his credits include Sex Traffic and The Way We Live Now. Director David Yates has a great way of telling the story. Director David Yates is presently working on the Half-Blood Prince movie but many expected he would step aside for someone else to handle the film version of the seventh and final installment.

Movie fans expect Harry Potter will magically rule box offices this summer. Thirty nine percent of respondents in an online poll named Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince the summer movie they most want to see.

On Harry Potter JK Rowling does an excellent job with this new story. She mixes action and romance with a dose of mystery and a side order of excitement. This could be the last film in the series because the actors getting so old now that it would be hard for future movies to be believable.

The Half Blood Prince

If you are a fan of Harry Potter, you are probably a fan since the very first book release. They continued to fall more and more in love with him after each book and movie release. There are lines formed for new movies, and book stores sold out of copies as soon as their doors opened. It is one of the most publicized and fan frenzy series in the world.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was a box office smash, this summer, and brought some new fans, along with the loyal followers. Although many of us have been following Harry Potter from the first year of his school adventure, and other decided to see what all the hype is about.

Many have voiced their disapproval towards the Harry Potter series, due to the Black Magic, but I honestly do not see the reason for all the controversy. The magic that is portrayed, both good and evil, is what has many of the children, some who have never picked up a book, reading the Harry Potter series; over and over. Another aspect that has many children so in tuned to the Harry Potter series, is the fact that beside the magic, Harry is an normal boy that faces many of the issues that our children face today.

So what does the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie bring to the screen? Well, love is in the air and instead of an increase urgency in this film it is more like the characters are too preoccupied with snogging, more slow paced than other adventures of the wizard, this film is more like an afternoon at Hogwarts with a few pints of butter beer. However, this film is lead in for the finale of the series scheduled to hit theaters in two parts during 2011 and it does a good job of putting things in place for a very climatic ending.

No matter what your take on the focus of the Harry Potter series, you can not deny that the writing and the acting stands out among the best. Other people criticize the films because the actors who portray the popular characters are aging faster then the characters that they are protraying. If you are a fan of the series, however, you do not care about this fact, you just want to continue seeing the characters that we have watched grown, portrayed by the actors we have watched grown, as well.

Although the film is not available for pre purchase, you can expect to see it on Blu Ray and DVD in time for your Holiday shopping. The film release, for your home viewing pleasure, is scheduled to release on December 7th.

Harry potter in 6 year in hogwart

During the start of new year at Hogwarts, Harry and Ron find out that their grades are good enough to be enrolled in Slughorn’s Potion class. However, as they thought that Snape would be taking the Potions class, and their grades will not allow them to sit in his class, they did not buy the course books. Nevertheless, Slughorn lends them few old spare copies for their use. One of the books that Harry receives is inscribed as being the property of the Half Blood Prince.

There are various notes and inscriptions on the book along with the official instructions. Later Harry finds out that this marginalia yields better results as compared to the author’s methods and helps improve his overall standard in Slughorn’s class. There is also a variety of spells for enemies and of protective nature imprinted on the booklet. The Half Blood Prince seemed to be quite a talented and brilliant student who was now helping Harry unintentionally and unconsciously in his academics as well as in improving his magical skills and abilities.

However, the hidden fact that the very personality behind the nickname is pretty much present right then in the Hogwarts castle augmented the whole account. Severus Snape, as revealed in the latter half of the novel, is the curious character of the penultimate of the Harry Potter series.

His role had been shaped out well in this sequel in order to make him an important participant and role of the Legend. In the former part, he vows with Narcissa Malfoy to aid and protect his son in the completion of a dangerous task that Voldemort appointed to him. If he would be unable to complete it, he would intervene and complete it on his behalf.

The Unbreakable Vow is rather like an irreversible responsibility that he had to fulfil anyway if he does not want to die, that he will in case he breaks the agreement. Draco repairs the Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirements to import Death Eaters, without having them cross, or bound by the enchantments round the castle. These Death Eaters declare a war on Hogwarts and reach Dumbledore, in order to eliminate him. However, in the end, Draco finds that he is unable to carry out the cold-blooded murder of his Headmaster.

At this instance, Snape makes appearance to fulfil his Vow and finish Dumbledore. This sudden bend in the story raised the thumps of the readers in order to make them even more excited and adrenalised. The role of the Half Blood Prince had been the most important factor in making the book, the best selling fiction in the whole market that left the readers with much anticipation for the ultimate sequel of J.K Rowling’s lined up Harry Potter series.
